Who I am
I am a leading exploration geologist with over 20 years of experience in mineral exploration and economic geology.
I currenly reside in Colorado with my wife, who is amazing in every way and designed this website (she can also help you with your designs).
Although I currently live in the USA, I have been involved in projects all over the world. Some of my favourite parts of going somewhere new to work on a project are experiencing new cultures and exploration practices.
I am well versed in starting, evaluating, and managing exploration projects around the world and would love to assist you with your project.
What I do
I specialize in identifying and evaluating mineral deposits, leading exploration programs that integrate geological mapping, geochemical analysis, and drilling to assess resource potential. With a strong background in ore deposit geology, I have contributed to the discovery and advancement of mineral projects by guiding technical teams and applying data-driven exploration strategies. My work focuses on translating geological insight into practical exploration outcomes that support the development of future mining operations.
Why Dolerite? Why Diabase?
The company takes its name from a rock type named dolerite (in Australia) and diabase (in North America): a mafic intrusive rock with a medium-grained texture and basaltic composition. Dolerite (and diabase) have excellent chemical and rheological characteristics for forming gold deposits.
The dual naming reflects both the global nature of geological terminology and the way exploration is practised across different regions. It also mirrors the structure of the business itself: a technical focus on economic geology with a seamless transition between the Australian and pan-American exploration landscapes.
Where I’ve worked
I have worked on mineral exploration projects across several major mining regions, including, Australia, Argentina, Indonesia, Japan, Melanesia, Mongolia, Morocco, and New Zealand. Throughout my career I have supported projects from early-stage exploration through advanced resource evaluation. My field experience spans from greenfields to near-mine exploration with a focus on discovering and advancing mineral deposits.
